I always have a lot of things I want to get to but in the last few years I've not set resolutions. Last year I had hopes that the year would be a time of celebration: Steve and I both turned 60 and we celebrated 40 years of marriage...big milestones, right? Instead I spent most of the year, until mid-July, dealing with an annoying health issue. It did help that through this I got things on track in other health areas, so that we all came out healthier at the end of 2013 than we started. Also, through the health 'scare' I pressed into Jesus and learned more about prayer and wisdom and His nature. I have a lot to learn about His character, but He has begun a good work in me and I'm really grateful for all He's doing.
So through December I was feeling an odd sense of anticipation, if I can call it that, about 2014 and all I want to do. I want to keep on eating in the healthy manner I started last July, I want to run a half-marathon this year, I want to learn Latin, and to quilt, I want to kayak more this spring and summer, and bike on the Canal. I'm planning to write every day and see how the 2 novels I've got going turn out, and I'll be working on a screenplay course as well.
Taking things day by day, I can accomplish these things a little at a time, an hour here, an hour there, and before you know it, it'll be 2015.
